A Trailmaster go kart is a precision engineered machine with many moving parts. Your new go kart will intimidate some of you, and others will jump in without due caution. All of you will need this First Start Checklist to start your Blazer 200R!
Importance of Following Instructions
The first time you start your go kart, it will be something you have never done before. Part of new experiences is learning the correct way to do things. If you don’t follow our checklist, you might have beginner’s luck and get it right the first time, but more than likely, there will be a step that you inadvertently skip. We get weekly phone calls from customers complaining that their go kart won’t start and 90% of the time we can resolve their issue by walking through this First Start Checklist.
The Proper Starting Procedure for a Trailmaster Blazer 200R
- Apply the parking brake.
- Turn the key to the ‘ON’ position.
- Turn the fuel valve at the engine to ‘ON’ (forward).
- Turn the fuel valve at the tank ‘ON’ (up or down).
- Pull out on the choke knob on the dash and hold firmly.
- Push the start button or pull the recoil rope until your Blazer 200R starts. It may take a few tries. 2-4 pulls is typical, but the first time you start it, it may take more.
- Push the choke knob in to halfway and let the engine warm up for 1 minute.
- Push the choke knob all the way in.
- Release the parking brake. Make sure the brake lever is all the way forward to prevent accidental engagement.
- Fasten seat belts and adjust accordingly.
- If there is no passenger, make sure the passenger’s side seatbelt remains fastened to prevent falling into the rear tire.
- Adjust the driver’s seat to comfortably reach the steering wheel and pedals.
- To turn the go-kart off, turn the key to ‘OFF’ or push and hold the kill button.
